Professor Baroness Kathy Willis was delighted to be awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science from the University of East Anglia.
When presenting Kathy to Congregation, Dr Simon Butler, from the School of Biological Sciences at UEA, highlighted her research that has "revealed profound insights into the effects of climate and environmental change on biodiversity and the resultant impacts on both the functioning of ecosystems and the benefits that we – as humans – can derive from them." He touched on Kathy's work to ensure "that the value of biodiversity is recognised and integrated into local, national and international policy" and finished by encouraging the new graduates to "draw inspiration and motivation from Kathy’s achievements. Her career reminds us that with knowledge, passion and dedication we can each make a difference and contribute to creating a better, more sustainable world."
Congratulations Kathy!
