The Global Pollen Project is an initiative with two main strands. First, it provides a platform for people working with pollen to get help with grain identification, and exchange knowledge. Second, it enables the digitisation of pollen reference collections to a common library.
The taxonomic backbone of the Global Pollen Project is linked to the Global Biodiversity Information Facility, enabling rigorous taxonomic verification. tGPP is also linked to Neotoma, the paleoecological database, which allows us to present past and present distributions for taxa within the project.
